Tamarack Cellars Chardonnay 2022, Columbia Valley, Washington

Founded in 1998 by Ron and Jamie Coleman, Tamarack Cellars is dedicated to the production of small lot, hand-crafted wines from select vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley, Rattle Snake Hills, Horse Heaven Hills, Wahluke Slope, Yakima Valley, Red Mountain and Columbia Valley appellations. The winery is located in a restored WW II fire station and barracks at the Walla Walla Airport Complex. The 2022 vintage is 100% Chardonnay. This Chardonnay has lush citrus and floral notes on the nose with hints of bright honey crisp apple, vanilla and honeysuckle. The palate shows mouthwatering flavors of Bartlett pear and guava. Our high elevation sites capture the freshness and natural acidity that contribute to the bursting fruit flavors and clean mineral-laden finish. Winemaker notes: The 2022 vintage was gently whole cluster pressed and pumped directly into a stainless-steel tank and chilled. We then start the fermentation process at a cool steady 58 degrees F. Keeping fermentation at this temperature helps preserve some of the robust aromatics of the chardonnay varietal.
