Grand Ciel Cabernet is a single vineyard, single varietal & single clone Cabernet from our estate vineyard on Red Mountain. Undeterred by its youth, the 2020 Grand Ciel Cabernet delivers an abundance of pleasure orelease. The nose shows whiffs of blackberry, roasted baking spices, star anise and cedar plank. The harmonious palate displays powerful, broad tannins and intense richness while remaining impeccably balanced and fresh. The oak is layered seamlessly in the background behind spicy green peppercorn, red currants, fresh dark espresso, and molasses. The lengthy finish is focused and has great purity of fruit with a savory edge. Winemaking: Cold soaked 24-36 hours, fermented 14-16 days on skin, aged 20 months in 100% French oak (100% new) and aged in bottle 18 months prior to release. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
