Chateau Haut Sarpe 2015, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé, Bordeaux, France

Chateau Haut-Sarpe is an old property of Count Jacques Amedee de Carles, Lieutenant General of the Armies of King Louis XVI. The Joseph Janoueix family is one of the oldest wine houses in the Libourne area, and they are as well-known as producers as they are merchants. Set on the hillside on the edge of the chalky plateau, this is one of the oldest and most reputable vineyards in Saint-Emilion, with 21 hectares of vines. The grape varieties are 70% Merlot, selected for its fullness, 30% Cabernet Franc, for its elegance. Grapes are hand-picked and hand-selected. The wine is aged for 18 months in new oak barrels. Deep red color. A wine nicely oaked and refined. A bouquet typical merlot, elegant and charming. A palate very agreeable and balanced.
