Turley Cinsault Bechtoldt Vineyard 2023, Lodi, California

Planted in 1886, this Cinsault vineyard is the oldest of its kind in the country – perhaps even beyond. The vines are gnarly, head-trained and planted on their own roots. The wine is light-bodied, tart, perfumed, and extremely well balanced. Select distribution and Paso Robles tasting room only. Turley Wine Cellars makes thirty-four wines, the vast majority of which are single vineyard designate Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs. By focusing on old vine vineyards in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture.
