Miner Viognier 2020, Simpson Vineyard, California

Miner is a dynamic, family-owned winery tucked along the eastern hills of the Oakville appellation in the heart of Napa Valley. Winemaker Gary Brookman uses a combination of old world winemaking techniques and modern technology to make wines that reflect the unique characteristics of individual vineyards or ‘terroir’ where specific varietals grow best. The Simpson Vineyard is a little known area in California’s Central Valley near Fresno. The hedonistic nature of the Viognier grape is heightened by the passionately farmed, low-yielding vines that produce grapes of unusual concentration, purity of flavor and electrifying vibrancy. Whole-cluster pressed and stainless steel fermented to allow the vibrant, tropical fruit characteristics of this varietal to shine.
