Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Napa Valley, California

In 1992 Debbie and Randy Lewis established a small family winery in Napa Valley and were later joined by their son Dennis in 1999. This Cabernet is crafted from a collection of small hillside vineyards in Calistoga, Oak Knoll and Rutherford. The grapes are picked at full ripeness and maturity. Hand sorted and de-stemmed to small stainless steel tanks and open top fermenters, the wines are pressed off at dryness after 2-4 weeks on the skins. The wine is aged primarily in new French oak for 19 months then bottled unfined and unfiltered. “The depth of fruit, superb structure, and potent yet polished character of our 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon places this among our best bottlings ever. Opening with multiple layers of black-skinned, earthy fruit nuanced with floral, spice, and mineral aromas, it is opulent and multifaceted. Building to tremendous presence, the wine gradually gives way to an enduring finish of fine-grained tannins.” – From the Winery
