Capanna Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021, Tuscany, Italy

The Capanna farm, owned by the Cencioni family since 1957, is situated in the Montosoli area, to the north of Montalcino. It was founded by Giuseppe Cencioni and, helped by his sons Benito and Franco, it was one of the first farms of the modern period of Brunello. This wine is 100% Sangiovese. Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation with maceration of the skins (18-20 days) at a controlled temperature and spontaneous malolactic fermentation, both in truncated cone-shaped Slavonian oak casks. Ageing: In Slavonian oak casks of 20 to 32 hl for 6-10 months; followed by ageing in bottles for at least 3-4 months. Color: intense ruby. Bouquet: fresh, with notes of red fruit and vanilla. Taste: good structure, slightly tannic, persistent.
