August Briggs Chardonnay Leveroni Vineyard 2020, Carneros, California

This wine comes from the great Leveroni vineyard located on the Sonoma County side of Carneros, just south of the town of Sonoma. This marks the 25th year we have made wine from this acclaimed vineyard. Fortunately, the grapes were not affected by the fires throughout Sonoma County. The wine is a throwback to the hedonistic style of Chardonnays that were produced throughout the valley years ago. The wine has a deep, rich golden color and right off the bat you get aromas of baked apple, buttercream and toasty oak. The wine is well balanced with a rich, opulent mouth-feel. Deep and bold, the wine covers your palate with flavors of poached pear, roasted nuts, and butter mixed with mild oak flavors. Barrels: 100% French, 30% new.
