Venge Scout’s Honor Proprietary Red Wine 1.5L, 2021 and 2022, California

The Venge (ven-ghee) family has farmed vitis vinifera varieties in Napa Valley for nearly half a century. The family’s viticultural roots flourished in 1976 with the purchase of a 17-acre vineyard in the Oakville District that was planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This fortunate development cast the family among the winemaking pioneers of Napa Valley. Our Scout’s Honor blend is based on a tradition of producing a full bodied and delicious red wine that is ready to consume upon release. We start with a base of old-vine Zinfandel and build upon that with old-vine Charbono, dry-farmed Petite Sirah, and finish with mountain Syrah. Full-bodied, concentrated, and gorgeous, with jammy, ripe black fruits, sweet currants, pepper spice, and mouthwatering deliciousness. 2021 Vintage: 76% Zinfandel, 14% Charbono, 8% Petite Sirah, 2% Syrah. Aged in 50% new American oak and the balance in once-used tight grained French oak for 14 months.
