Ratti Nebbiolo Ochetti 2021, DOC Langhe, Piedmont, Italy

For over 50 years, the name Ratti has been inextricably linked to Barolo. Today Cantina Ratti produces classic Lange wines in La Morra, in full respect of Renato Ratti’s philosophy. The vineyards of Cantina Ratti extend for 50 hectares, divided into 6 farms located in La Morra, Mango and Costigliole d’Asti. Class and spontaneous liveliness are the characteristics that distinguish Nebbiolo Ochetti. Ancient wine from vineyards in the Roero area (sandy hills located to the left of the Tanaro river) and already known for the cellars of the House of Savoy since 1600, and partly from some of our vineyards in the hills of the Langhe The style always remains faithful to its origins: elegance, aromas of small red fruits, soft tannins, great expression of Nebbiolo in the splendid version of drinkability and harmony. The grapes harvested by hand in October are destemmed and crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel containers. Contact with the skins lasts about ten days and malolactic fermentation takes place in steel. Label: The historical label “del soldatino” was designed by Renato Ratti to commemorate the deeds of the Piedmontese regiments of the eighteenth century. Notes: Ruby red color not very intense. Fine, delicate and persistent bouquet with hints reminiscent of wild strawberry and raspberry. Pleasantly bitter taste, velvety, light and full at the same time.
