Barolo Marcenasco has ancient origins. Historically, there are documents from the “Rigestum Comunis Albae” that testify to the cultivation of Nebbiolo in the area of “Marcenascum” as early as the twelfth century. Barolo Marcenasco is soft, balanced, elegant and reflects the typical characteristics of the La Morra area. It is the wine that has represented our history and our identity since its inception. Winemaking: The grapes harvested by hand in October are destemmed and crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel containers. Contact with the skins lasts about three to four weeks and includes fermentation and subsequent post-fermentation maceration with a traditional submerged cap. Malolactic fermentation takes place in steel. Aging: Aging for about two years in 25hl and 50hl oak barrels and then aging in the bottle for about a year. Label: The label created in 1965 by Renato Ratti pays homage to the history of Marcenasco, as it bears the coat of arms of the local noble family with a black falcon on a golden background. The Latin inscription “Probasti me et cogniusti me” means “You have tried me, you have known me”. Notes: Noble and generous, a glory of the old Piedmont, a wine suitable for very long aging, Barolo is the absolute master of the table. It conquers the palate with strength, harmony and fullness and keeps it in its power for a long time. Garnet red color. Scent of liquorice and tobacco. Full and elegant taste.
