2021 vintage – 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot. In 1983, Tony and Herta Peju bought thirty acres of vines in the famed Rutherford district of the Napa Valley. Since then, the Peju family has maintained a meticulous focus on the vineyard, which has grown to include a proactive approach to sustainability and environmental consciousness. Peju’s Rutherford Estate is a California Certified Organic vineyard, and is planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Tasting: “This stunning wine boasts an expressive nose that immediately captivates the senses. On the palate, the wine opens up with complex layers of dried red fruit and hints of cigar box. A subtle hint of wet stone adds a unique touch to the overall experience. The wine’s medium to full body creates a beautiful balance between the fruit and tannin structure.
