Moccagotta Barbaresco DOCG 2020, Piedmont, Italy

Owned by the Minuto family since the mid-1800s, Moccagatta is the name of a hill in Barbaresco. The location: The hills in the heart of the Langa del Barbaresco, in a unique land unveiled through the elegance of its wines. The vineyards extend through the Langhe south of the Tanaro River at altitudes between 210 and 300 meters above sea level. The soil is characterized by the Sant’Agata fossil marls, rich in clay and limestone, with colors ranging from yellowish-white to blue, ensuring the elegance and complexity of the wines produced in these hills. The pursuit of balanced production and special care for the plants: pruning and summer thinning of the clusters coupled with the use of modern wine-making equipment and facilities are all essential for obtaining quality wines. The grapes for this wine come from three parcel at lower altitude than our others Barbaresco. The wine combines grapes from more sandy soils with grapes from more clay-like and fresh soils to obtain an elegant and more ready-to-drink wine. Fermentation: Thermo-conditioned steel tanks. Aging: In French oak barriques for 12 months and in bottle for at least 9 months.
