Lapis Luna Red Wine Blend 2021, North Coast, California

2021 – 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 25% Malbec, 5% Barbera. AVA – 93% Mendocino, Pauli Ranch, 7% Rockppile. Oak: 10% new French, 90% neutral. All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated. Each fermentation was pumped-over twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 90º F. Maceration from 12 to 28 days, barrel aged 20 months. Lapis Luna (Latin for ‘Stone and Moon’) Wines stunning labels introduce the drinker to ‘the faceless hero, a timeless story of struggle, aspiration, and redemption. The quest depicted on the bottles reflects the hero’s journey to reach their goal. This journey represents the story of the wine’s creation. Established in 1999, every release has pushed conventional winemaking limits to produce exceptional wines from undiscovered California vineyards. Fully ranged from ripe, red fruits to dark and brooding notes. Layers and layers of crushed blackberries underlined with spice. Juicy and round with lush, supportive tannins, the finish lingers long into a promising future.
