La Sirena Aviatrix Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara, California

Deep ruby in color, this Cab opens with strong juicy fruit aromas of wild berry, black cherry juice, and ripe black plums, with lovely vanilla notes and a touch of pink peppercorn. On the palate, it bursts with bright fruit flavor that almost has a sweet impression (though it is a completely dry wine). Its full-bodied in flavor and power, but has soft, streamlined tannin and a silky, light feel on the palate, very atypical for a Cabernet Sauvignon. Aviatrix is a collaboration between La Sirena winemaker/owner Heidi Barrett and her two daughters, winemaker Chelsea Barrett, and sales/marketing director Remi Barrett. Aviatrix is dedicated to the intrepid women throughout the history of aviation, who surpass society’s expectations and limitations to soar to new heights. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon from Happy Canyon of Santa Varbara AVA plus 5% Petite Sirah and 2% Cabernet Franc.
