Yet, because of its delicacy and its dependence on perfect balance, great Moscato is hard to make, and only a few producers have mastered the craft. One of these is Stefano Perrone who has quickly emerged as one of the region’s stars. A retired champion motocross racer, Stefano took over the duties of the family domaine named for his father. Elio Perrone Moscato d’Asti Sourgal is golden in color and lightly sparkling (frizzante.) This slightly sweet sparkler of 100% Moscato offers a delightful nose of raisins, violets and spice. Medium in body with perfect acidity and balance, it delivers intense flavors of raisins, sultanas and spice. Luscious, long and sweet, it cleanses the palate on the finish.
