J.L. Chave St Joseph Blanc Circa 2022, Rhone, France

Wine growers in the northern Rhône since 1481, the Chave family (currently helmed by Gérard and son Jean-Louis) represents 16 generations of unbroken lineage committed to the production of some of the finest Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussanne on the planet. The Chave family’s methods for their winemaking include traditional farming, super low yields, full ripeness, and minimal manipulation. Their unmatched meticulousness continues through five centuries to render venerable expressions of the purest of northern Rhône terroir. This white wine is made from 100% Roussanne grapes grown in the granitic soils of Mauve, St-Joseph. These unique soils contribute to its delightful mineral edge, distinct from the suppleness found in wines from the clay limestone soils of Hermitage. Aromas: Expect enticing aromas of pears, white stone fruit, acacia flowers, and tarragon. Quality and craftsmanship: like all Chave wines, the ‘Selection’ line adheres to organic, biodynamic, and traditional methods with minimal intervention.
