Domaine Serrigny Savigny-les-Beaune Rouge 2021, Burgundy, France

“The history of Domaine Serrigny begins with the installation of our great-grandfather in Savigny-lès-Beaune at the end of the nineteenth century. The work was arduous and difficult, as the reputation of Burgundy wines did not go beyond the borders of the neighbouring departments. By dint of self-sacrifice and courage, our ancestors gradually developed the surface of the Estate, to pass on to our father a little more than 3 hectares. Continuing to dig his father’s furrow, our father passed on to us an estate of more than 5 hectares when he died suddenly in 1995.” Age of the vines for the Savigny-Les-Beaune: 40 years. Cultivated area: 1.9420 ha spread over different climates: Aux Fourches, Aux Champs des Pruniers, Les Prevaux and Les Planchots de la Champagne. Exposure: vines located at the entrance to the village, stony soils, clay. Wine description: The cherry color, the fresh and slender nose carries a strong accent on black and red fruits. The palate is round, slightly tannic in its young age, and well balanced
