Domaine Serene Pinot Noir “Yamhill Cuvée” 2019, Willamette Valley, Oregon

Domaine Serene’s vineyards are all located in Yamhill County in the premier wine growing hills of the North Willamette Valley, Oregon. This Yamhill Cuvée is the result of controlled low yields of fruit in the vineyard, traditional Burgundian wine making practices and 100% barrel aging (12 months) in small French cooperage. The Yamhill Cuvée showcases forward abundant fruit with integrated oak undertones. Aged 15 months in French oak barrels, 52% new. Fresh and vibrant, the 2018 Yamhill Cuvée exudes pure and refined elegance. Introduced by a fetching floral nose, intense pure fruit flavors of strawberry, dark cherry and tart cranberry burst on the palate. A veil of complex notes of mulled spices, forest floor and chaparral balance the fruit-driven essence of the wine. The mouthfeel is dense with pure, rich texture and fresh minerality, integrating the structured tannins, leading to a smooth lingering finish.
