Domaine Chanson Santenay-Beauregard Premier Cru 2022, Burgundy, France

Grape: Pinot Noir. Soil: Clay and limestone with lots of stones. Site: Chanson owns 3 ha in this climat located in the Premier Cru area of Santenay, small village in the South of the Cote de Beaune. The plot is at the top of the hill and is positioned on two levels. The large proportion of stones gives the wine a very special minerality which emphasizes the typicity of the Pinot Noir. 2022 vintage: After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. Tasting: Bright ruby color. Intense and delicate aromas of red berries (raspberry and strawberry) mixed with pepper on a hint of vanilla. Well-balanced and well-crafted. Refined and precise texture. Well integrated tannins. Long and refreshing aftertaste with a vanilla touch.
