Leonetti Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Walla Walla Valley, Washington

2021 vintage – 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec, 5% Merlot. From Loess, Mill Creek Upland, Seven Hills, Serra Pedace, Leonetti Old Block, and Holy Roller vineyards. Each vineyard site was chosen for its unique soils, slopes, aspects, and mesoclimates. The vineyards are farmed intensively by hand, with a focus on sustainability. The wine was aged 22 months in new and once filled French oak barrels, and neutral oval Botti. Dark to the rim of the glass, the 2021 Cabernet has an intoxicating perfume of ripe plum and black cherry, graham cracker, crème brûlée, and cassis. The creamy texture is flawless with tannin and acid in perfect harmony. What the 2021 vintage lacked in yield, it utterly compensated for in quality. For more than 30 years, the Figgins Family has been producing wines of consistently high quality at Leonetti Cellar, which was originally bonded in 1977 by Founders Gary and Nancy Figgins.
