Hunky Dory Sauvignon Blanc 2023, Marlborough, New Zealand

Located on the east coast of the South Island, surrounded by protective mountains ranges to the west, Marlborough is one of New Zealand’s sunniest and driest areas. In this bright, but relatively cool climate, grapes have the advantage of a long and slow ripening season, which is great for intensifying the flavors. The wines are created from grapes grown on a mixture of organic and sustainable vineyards. The grapes for this Sauvignon Blanc are sourced primarily from 3 vineyard sites. The Rapaura Vineyard provides richly flavored Sauvignon Blanc grapes with a wide breadth of tropical, passion fruit and greengage plum characters. From the Straw lodge Vineyard on the West Coast Road, the flavors are lemon, lime and guava spectrum. The Andahlane and Windrush components come from between the 2 and impart the gooseberry and the acidity of this area.
