Domaine Houchart Côtes de Provence Rouge 2018, France

Owned by the Quiot family from Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the 90 hectare family estate, which lies at the foot of Mont Sainte Victoire, near Aix-en-Provence has recently been enlarged to over 200 acres and the winemaking facilities have been totally renewed. The soils are clay and limestone, rough-textures, formed from the decomposition of the mother rock from the surrounding mountains. Tasting notes: Vermillon red. Red berry and pepper aromas. Red berries on the palate, with a lovely, well balanced tannin structure. Winemaking: Total de-stemming and 20% “saignée” for making Rosés. Vatting time : 10 to 15 days at 27-28°C. Matured for 10 to 12 months. Grape varieties: 4 grapes varieties: Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah & Mourvedre
