Malescot is a blend of four grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. heir distribution in the vineyard takes into account the structure and nature of the soil. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot account for 50% and 35% of the grape varieties, respectively. Cabernet Franc, planted for 10% of the vineyard’s surface, and Petit Verdot, for 5%, add a touch of aromatic complexity and density each year. The grapes are harvested manually in crates. The wine is aged in 70% new barrels on fine lees for 12-14 months. It is unyeasted, unfined, unfiltered with a single racking during ageing.
