Barnard Griffin Syrah 2020, Columbia Valley, Washington

Barnard Griffin Winery is situated in south-central Washington at the confluence of the Yakima, Columbia, and Snake rivers, in the heart of Washington State’s wine country. Founded in 1983 by Rob Griffin and Deborah Barnard, Barnard Griffin has been producing award-winning wines for over 30 years. Winemaking: Pumpovers 2-3 times daily; pressed at 2% sugar; peak fermentation temperature 85 degrees; aged in European oak barrels and upright ovals. 100% Malolactic positive. 100% Syrah from Desert Aire Vineyard (Wahluke Slope AVA). Harvested early in August from a warm site, the 2020 Columbia Valley Syrah opens with bright, juicy, dark red and black fruit flavors as a delightful, savory and sanguine notion wafts from the glass. It has a tight and firm profile, with prominent spicy notes and hints of savory and meaty flavors. The finish is firm, fresh and perfect for enjoying with food.
