Golan Heights (located in the town of Katzrin in the central Golan) enjoys ideal conditions, as in Bordeaux or Tuscany, for producing internationally renowned wines – volcanic basaltic soil, suitable topography and cool high-altitude climate. The vineyards on this volcanic plateau rise from 400 meters (1,300 feet) above sea level to 1,200 meters (3,900 feet) and receive snowfall in the winter. The 2014 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon shows off characters of ripe cherries and plums, along with nuances of bitter chocolate, earth, spice, herbs and French oak. This richly flavored classic Cabernet presents a full body and a lingering finish. While ready to enjoy upon release, the 2014 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon will improve decidedly with a number of years of bottle aging, and should remain in excellent drinking condition for some 10-15 years from vintage.
