Van Duzer Vineyards is the first in the Willamette Valley to benefit from the cool Pacific breezes that flow nightly through the Van Duzer Corridor to the interior of the valley. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris planted on the vineyards in the foothills of the Van Duzer Corridor flourish in the cool-weather growing conditions where they develop a purity of fruit flavor, complexity and pleasing balance. Located on a scenic hilltop amidst 82 acres of vines, the family estate winery practices sustainable farming and has been endorsed by internationally recognized LIVE (Low Impact Viticulture and Enology) and Salmon Safe. Grapes were picked at ultimate maturity and harvested by hand to preserve freshness. Gentle handling throughout the winemaking process ensured depth of flavor and ripe tannin. 10 months in French oak lends depth and overall complexity. Enchantingly aromatic, the nose displays a range of fragrance: fruity scents of cherry & wild strawberry, herbal notes of basil, ground pepper and eucalyptus, along with sensual, barrel-driven aromas of bourbon, vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. The lengthy finish is layered with cherry cola, brown sugar and molasses.
