V. Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Mayacamas Mountains, Sonoma County, California

Planted in 2007, V. Vineyards is nestled on the Sonoma County side of Spring Mountain along the Mayacamas Mountain range. Situated at 1,800 feet in elevation and just one mile from the Napa County line, the vineyards are dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc varietals. The luxury of a being a small vineyard is being able to tend to each vine individually utilizing sustainable farming practices. V. Vineyards’ unique mountain site provides well-drained volcanic soils which helps to produce small berries with intensely concentrated flavors. Tasting notes: Color: Deep, Shiny ebony with touches of garnet and currant. On the Nose: Dense dark fruit with touches of clay, Espelette chili, black cherry jam, lavender, talc, strawberry jam, toasted bread, granite, oregano, button mushroom, and sandalwood. On the Palate: Dense full entrance evolving on a fresh mid-palate with touches of milk chocolate, lavender, roses, white peaches, starfruit, tonic water, ice tea. Composition 2016: 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc
