“The 2017 White Riesling is a wine full of contrasts and complementary flavors, and we can’t get enough of it. Open this bottle and you will be drawn in by a blend of chamomile, wet stone, delicate floral notes and a wonderful savory character. The palate is a mirror image of the nose, starting with slightly sweet floral and fruit notes and finishing with an almost endless savory finish. As always there is a hint of residual sugar, reminiscent of Meyer lemon curd, and the clean, crisp acidity that is typical of Stony Hill White Riesling. This vintage is beautiful and complex and we are excited to watch it grow and evolve for many years to come.” – From the Winery. Fred and Eleanor loved the white wines of Burgundy, and while they would have planted the entire property to Chardonnay, viticulture advisors from the University of California recommended they diversify. They planted the first vines on the property in 1948 to Chardonnay, Riesling and a small amount of Pinot Blanc, followed a few years later by fields of Gewurztraminer and Semillon. The 21st century has seen the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon and a small amount of Syrah.
