Rutherford Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Rutherford-Napa Valley, California

The Rutherford Road Cabernet is named after a charming street in the heart of the Napa where Michael and Mary Ann first lived. The appellation of Rutherford is one of the most prized appellations as its vines on the valley floor gain an iconic flavor of earth; infamously known as Rutherford Dust. Winemaker: Michael Pozzan & Molly Lyman. Vineyard: Select vineyards throughout the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Grape soucing is 85% Rutherford and 15% Oakville. Napa Valley AVA represents over 100 soil variations of volcanic and marine origin. Aged 20 months in French oak. 2019 vintage: 97.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Merlot. Tasting notes: The 2019 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning example of Rutherford Cabernet. Aromas of black currant, saddle leather, and violets explode out of the glass. In the mouth, the wine is deeply layered with flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, and creme de cassis, swimming with creamy tannins and framed with the broad structure of well-integrated fine French oak.
