[Re]entrant Pinot Noir 2021, Willamette Valley, Oregon

Reference Point started in 2006. Approximately 1 acre in Newberg Oregon was planted to Pinot Noir. In a small plot of land on the back side of our RV garage. All vines are Pommard clone and planted east to west. Soil: Mixture of sedimentary and volcanic. Barrels used are 3 year old neutral as to keep the wine fresh and lively. Approximately 30% is whole cluster and the remainder hand sorted. Cold press fermentation ensures that the acids in the grape are captured and along with the lively fruits are its hallmarks. Made in the traditional French method of Saignee, the color of this wine comes from approximately 3 hours of limited skin contact. Light salmon in color, this wine highlights stone fruit and lively acidity. Fragrant aroma and soft balance of white peach on the palate while the finish dances on your tongue. “We did not produce a Pinot Noir iin 2020 so the 2021 vintage is a “ReEntry” of sorts.
