Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Columbia Valley, Washington

“Since 1978 our family has focused exclusively on producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignons that rival and surpass the quality and pedigree of the finest Cabernet Sauvignons in the world.” When Alex Golitzin founded Quilceda Creek, he took his uncle André Tchelistcheff’s advice to heart: make one wine and make it well. And for Alex, there was no doubt that wine would be Cabernet Sauvignon. In the several decades since, Quilceda Creek has never wavered from this focus, relentlessly pursuing perfection with every vintage. The 2019 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced primarily from the Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, one of the most historic vineyard properties in Washington State. Rich and layered with excellent balance, the wine reveals flavors of blackberry, black cherry, cassis and plum fruit that coat the entire palate in a horizontal, broad fashion. Complex notes of violets, sandalwood, soy, black truffle, walnut, forest floor and minerals are some of the aromas and flavors to be discovered in this complex and decadent wine. “This is the 41st vintage of our Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and one of the finest Cabernets our estate has ever produced.” – Paul Golitzin, President and Winemaker. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 90% Champoux Vineyard, 10% Mach One Vineyard. Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels.
