The wine-making process of Barolo Margheria takes place in horizontal fermentation tanks with temperature control for 12-15 days. The wine ages in large 25-hl wooden barrels for 24 months.
Garnet red color. Very intense and complex nose with notes of fruit and flowers and hints of leather and fresh hay. In the mouth it is full-bodied, elegant, with pleasant tannins that are typical of Nebbiolo and of the wines made in the area of Serralunga d’Alba. Perfect balance between tradition and innovation. Vigna Margheria: 1.5 hectares for the oldest cru of Cantina Pira Luigi. The 50-year old vines are planted in a calcareous-clayish soil, with western exposure, in Serralunga d’Alba. They give a classic and elegant Barolo, which is ready to drink a few years after the barrel ageing.
