Former Indy car driver Randy Lewis, his wife, Debbie, and son, Dennis, are driven to create world class wines. This special bottling of Cabernet was named after Dennis’s 3rd son ‘Mason”. Fruit is sourced from Calistoga, St. Helena, Rutherford and Oak Knoll. The grapes are picked at full ripeness and maturity. Hand sorted and de-stemmed to small stainless steel tanks and open top fermenters, the wines are pressed off at dryness after 2-4 weeks on the skins. Aged primarily in new French oak for 19 months then bottled unfined and unfiltered. 2017 vintage – Dense, layered aromas with sweet cocoa, alluring oak spice and wow-factor frontal fruit, the wine is showy yet seriously structured. Creamy melted berry character gives way to supple muscle with integrated tannins and a long, lavish finish.
