Former Indy car driver Randy Lewis, his wife, Debbie, and son, Dennis, are driven to create world class wines. This special bottling of Cabernet was named after Dennis’s 3rd son ‘Mason”. Fruit is sourced from Calistoga, St. Helena, Rutherford and Oak Knoll. The grapes are picked at full ripeness and maturity. Hand sorted and de-stemmed to small stainless steel tanks and open top fermenters, the wines are pressed off at dryness after 2-4 weeks on the skins. Aged primarily in new French oak for 19 months then bottled unfined and unfiltered. 2016 vintage – Complex, youthful, packed with plums and sweet ripe berries, plus vanilla, milk chocolate, cola and creamy cherry – all you can do is smile. Rich and smooth-cheeked on the palate the wine shows a more mature character too with layers of flavor and polished tannins trailing off to a supple finish.
