Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, Napa Valley, California

In 1992 Debbie and Randy Lewis established a small family winery in Napa Valley and were later joined by their son Dennis in 1999. This Cabernet is crafted from a collection of small hillside vineyards in Calistoga, Oak Knoll and Rutherford. The grapes are picked at full ripeness and maturity. Hand sorted and de-stemmed to small stainless steel tanks and open top fermenters, the wines are pressed off at dryness after 2-4 weeks on the skins. The wine is aged primarily in new French oak for 19 months then bottled unfined and unfiltered. “Opening with dusted truffle, toffee crunch and a broad band of currant and black fig fruit our 2020 Napa Valley Cabernet is dark and delicious. Chocolatey character infuses the wine from start to finish with elements of loam, cedar and beeswax.
