Leonetti Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Walla Walla Valley, Washington

2019 vintage – 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot from Loess, Mill Creek Upland, Seven Hills, Serra Pedace and Holy Roller vineyards. Each vineyard site was chosen for its unique soils, slopes, aspects, and mesoclimates. The vineyards are farmed intensively by hand, with a focus on sustainability. The wine was aged 22 months in new and once filled French oak barrels, and neutral oval botti. Gorgeously saturated color. The bouquet emits bright red fruits, cedar, cassis, anise, and cocoa. Inky depth of color. A classic and timeless Cabernet nose sporting notes of ripe blackberry and marionberry, cassis, dried herbs, olive tapenade, cedar, vanilla, and coffee. The palate is balanced with bright acidity and sings with notes of plum, black cherry and baking spices. The tannins are beautifully elegant in this vintage and the wine rewards with a very soft and long finish. For more than 30 years, the Figgins Family has been producing wines of consistently high quality at Leonetti Cellar, which was originally bonded in 1977 by Founders Gary and Nancy Figgins.
