Jadot Pommard 2020, Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, France

With Volnay to the south and Beaune to the north, Pommard is situated on an east- and southeast-facing slope between 240 and 380 meters above sea level with a high-clay, calcareous soil. The grapes are handpicked and sorted, then undergo fermentation. After a long maceration, a proportion of the wine is set to age in French oak barrels. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration. Pommard is often considered the most “masculine” Cote de Beaune red. This is a firm, full-bodied wine that is nevertheless exceptionally round and generous, with a fruity depth of character and earthy aromas and flavors.
