The Pernand Verglesses vineyard borders those of Aloxe Corton and Savigny les Beaune. On either side of a valley, it is distributed under East, South and West exposures. Altitude between 260 and 380 m. The Clos de la Croix de Pierre is located on the Premier Cru “En Caradeux”. It faces east, not far from the village of Pernand. The soil is mainly limestone with small pebbles on the surface. It takes its name from a large stone cross located on the edge of the climate. Vinification: This premier cru is vinified in vats for about 3-4 weeks then it is put in oak barrels for an aging of 15-18 months. Tasting / Food pairing: The Premier Cru “Clos de la Croix de Pierre” is a wine that is both powerful, perfectly structured and of great finesse. It gives off very fruity aromas (small black fruits). It is long in the mouth with tannins showing a certain flexibility.
