Fruit: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot. Winemaking: The fruit for this wine comes from both sustainably farmed vineyard in Rutherford, and from local Napa Valley vineyards. Each vineyard block was harvested and made into an individual lot representing that block. The wines were pressed off the skins from 10 to 30 days after crushing. Bottled in June 2019. Aging: Aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels. 29% newamerican oak, 11% new French oak, 60% used barrels. Tasting notes: Lovely red fruit characters of pomegranate, cassis and cherry are nuanced by riper tones of plum and chocolate. The wine is dense, with deep tannins enhanced by notes of fennel, vanilla and lovey notes of caramel and graphite originating from oak barrel aging.
