In the Upper Galilee – a wild mountainous region of forested slopes, gorges, stony ridges and running streams – lie the vineyards of Galil Mountain Winery, a joint venture between Kibbutz Yiron and the Golan Heights Winery. 2014 vintage – 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 7% Syrah, 5% Petit Verdot. The wine underwent 14-21 days of fermentation on skins at 30ºC (86ºF), full malolactic fermentation, and 16 months of aging in French oak barrels. With rich shades of bordeaux, the wine displays fresh blueberry, blackberry, fresh cherry and purple plum jam aromas, accompanied by delicate fresh herb characters on a background of nutmeg, vanilla and toasted oak. Rich in flavor, the well-balanced wine has a smooth and flowing texture and a long, elegant finish.
