The wines of Viña Cobos are the result of a shared dream inspired by the passion of an American winemaker (Paul Hobbs) and two partners (Andrea Marchiori & Luis Barraud) from a wine-producing culture deeply rooted in European traditions. Their founding aspiration: to produce a Malbec of power and elegance unequalled anywhere in the world. The Felinos exhibit a great balance of pure, concentrated fruit, lively acidity and smooth tannins. The 2017 Felino Malbec was sourced from Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco vineyards vineyards, between 2,306 and 3,927 feel elevation, semi-desert climate. Fermented with selected and native yeasts in 8 and 17 ton closed-top stainless steel tanks. 2-day cold soak; 14 days total maceration. Violet red with black tones. An attractive nose with aromas of fresh black fruits and prunes. e palate displays good concentration and balance, with sweet yet supple tannins.
