Dusted Valley Petite Sirah 2017, Stone Tree Vineyard, Wahluke Slope, Columbia Valley, Washington

Dusted Valley was founded on the notion that when family pulls together the American Dream can turn into a living reality. In 2003, three Wisconsin natives became the 52nd winery to ‘hang the shingle’ and call the Walla Walla Valley home. This Washington Petite Sirah is a dense, firm and expressive effort from Stone Tree vineyard one of the warmest vineyards in WA state. It offers up chewy black plum and blueberry flavors that linger easily against those big refined Petite Sirah tannins. 2017 vintage – 88% Petite Sirah, 12% Primitivo from Wahluke Slope. Vineyard: Stone Tree. Fermented in stainless tank for a 43 day maceration. Aged on fine lees and racked once before bottling. 20% new Wisconsin oak puncheon; 10% second fill French oak puncheon. “Our Petite Sirah hails from Stone Tree Vineyard in the heart of the Wahluke Slope AVA and exemplifies the luscious fruit and power that this vineyard is so well known for. Bound by the Columbia River and the Saddle Mountains, the rapid cooling in the evening helps retain naturally high levels of acidity, which in turn preserves the varietal characters of the grape. Get ready – this wine starts big, stays big and finishes big!” – From the Winery
