In 2017, Dusted Valley proudly celebrates their 13th anniversary of growing and crafting spectacular Washington State wine under the Dusted Valley and Boomtown by Dusted Valley labels. With strong roots in agriculture, brothers-in-law Chad Johnson and Corey Braunel focus their wine growing philosophies in the vineyard with sustainable practices, low (or modest) yields and minimalistic winemaking. The resulting wines offer a sense of place and showcase their estate vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley and other premier vineyards throughout the state. 2011 BFM – 78% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec from Stone Tree, Bacchus, Red Heaven and Birch Creek Vineyards. Aged in 40% new oak. The BFM stands up to its reputation of being the biggest merlot based blend coming out of Washington today. Technically, Chad Johnson and Corey Braunel could label this as Merlot, instead the initials of the proprietary blend stand for Big F_____ Merlot, and it’s akin to cherry bomb explosion with cherry jam and kirsch backed by dark chocolate.
