Dusky Goose Pinot Noir 2011, Dundee Hills, Oregon

“This vibrant mix of Old World clones, grown at our own sources in Dundee, is a triumph of precision and place. Gently aged in French oak for 12 months and reserved for additional bottle aging before release, our Dundee Hills Pinot Noir is made to endure, building power with age. The 2011 Dundee Hills Pinot noir is an exquisite representation of a late cool vintage in the Dundee Hills. This vineyard blend is composed of two fruit sources, the Thistle Vineyard and our estate Rambouillet Vineyard. The aromatics remind us of raspberry syrup, followed by dried cherry with cumin and coriander spice notes. The palate entry has a burst of juiciness, similar to a fresh guava creating a vibrancy on the mid palate. Round tannins create a welcome structure, while Italian plums, well-loved leather and a hint of black pepper introduce the delightfully long finish.
