Dopff & Irion Cuvee Rene Dopff Gewurztraminer 2016, Alsace, France

Located in Riquewihr, the jewel of the Alsace vineyard, the village is an object of enchantment that has lasted for centuries. Its layout and structure have not changed since the Middle Ages, and the people who live here haven’t changed much either, with a lifestyle that revolves around the industry of wine making. The 68-acre vineyard worked by Dopff & Irion is extremely well-situated. With the different types of soil and the varied climate, the estate is able to produce rich, powerful and complex wines. The Cuvee Rene Dopff line is produced with the grapes brought by 200 selected vine-growers. Immediate pressing. Fermentation in controlled temperatures (in order to keep the freshness). Storage on lees for four weeks and maturing for six months in tanks before bottling. 100% Gewürztraminer. “Pale-yellow color. Very enjoyable and typical bouquet with floral aromas (rose) and exotic fruit notes (pineapple, mango, litchi). Round and soft, well-balanced and without heaviness. Long and aromatic, with litchi and exotic fruits. Nice and clean freshness on the aftertaste.” – From the winery
