Donnafugata is famous throughout the world for its production of quality Sicilian wines: white, red, passito, natural sweet, as well as grappa and oil. Cabernet Sauvignon and Nero d’Avola; Tannat and other varieties finalize the blend. Grapes are vinified in stainless steel with skin contact of about 14 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked into new and twice-used French oak barrels for 12-14 months and aged in bottles for at least 20 months. The Cabernet Sauvignon brings great elegance and longevity, thanks to firm and velvety tannins, while Nero d’Avola stands out with fruity (cherry and sour cherry) and spicy notes. Tannat, finally, enhances the fruity component while adding a great polyphenolic structure rich in tannins: a variety ideal for long-ageing wines. Tancredi 2016, deep ruby red, is characterized by a fragrant bouquet with notes of red fruit (mulberry and blueberry) with delicate hints of licorice and sweet tobacco. In the mouth it offers a structure with important and well-integrated tannins. An enveloping and persistent finish.
