100% Nebbiolo from the Pajana vineyard in the Ginestra cru. Fruit sits at 350 meters above sea level, with southeast-facing vines planted to calcareous clay soils with a small percentage of sand. Maceration on the skins occurs over 20-30 days. Aging takes place in French oak barriques and 50hL casks for 32 months prior to bottling. Pretty floral and cherry notes are grounded by iron, tar and tobacco elements in this beefy red, accented by a hint of oak. The tannins are aggressive yet well-integrated. Finishes long and spicy, with fine grip.
