Domaine La Barbotaine Sancerre 2021, France

Located in the heart of France, the estate is the legacy of Frédéric Champault’s parents and grandparents. The vineyard covers about fifteen hectares. It is made up of different plots spread around the estate and is distinguished by an interesting diversity of well-exposed terroirs, on the hills of Crézancy. Sauvignon blanc vines make up the majority of the vineyard (80%); they are on clay-limestone soil on the one hand and on caillotes (small white stones covering the ground) on the other hand. The caillotes bring finesse and fruitiness to the wine. This dry and fruity white wine has a beautiful light yellow color with brilliant reflections. It is full of finesse and complexity with delicate mineral touches. On the nose, we find freshness and fruity aromas of citrus fruits. Our white Sancerre is best enjoyed at a temperature of 10 – 12°C; drink now and preferably within 5 years of bottling.
