Domaine Houchart Côtes de Provence Rosé 2018, Provence, France

Domaine Houchart has fifty hectares of vines, situated at Puyloubier, at the foot of the famed Mont Saint Victoire, 17 kms east of Aix en Provence. Since 1984, these wines have been commercialized by Vignobles Jérôme Quiot. Because of the size of the domaine, 80 hectares, it is possible to take full advantages of a wide variety of soil types, with predominantly sandy, chalky soil and deeper beds of clay and silt. This allows adequate drainage of rainfall and ensures the vines are able to produce the best possible quality. 2018 vintage – Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre. Winemaking: Pneumatic pressing. Settling at 10 degrees. Stainless steel vats at 18 degrees. Special efforts are made to preserve freshness and fruit by the use of CO2 gas to exclude oxygen during the harvest. Salmon pink. Strawberries, red berries. Lively and fresh, with citrus fruit aromas and plenty of fullness.
